LAKE PLACID, Fla. (May 20, 2026) – Families and adventure seekers will soon have a new way to experience the water in Highlands County as Lake June Lagoon officially opens to the public on Thursday, May 21 at H.L. Bishop Park on scenic Lake June-in-Winter.
Located along the sandy shoreline of one of Florida’s premier freshwater lakes, Lake June Lagoon is an inflatable floating water park designed to deliver a unique lakefront experience for visitors of all ages. The attraction features floating obstacle courses, towering inflatable slides, shaded floating cabanas, and a dedicated toddler splash zone, creating a fun and family-friendly destination for both residents and visitors.
Situated within the designated swimming area of the more than 3,500-acre Lake June-in-Winter, the lagoon combines outdoor recreation with the natural beauty of Highlands County’s freshwater lakes.
The new attraction was made possible in part through funding support from Visit Sebring/Highlands County Tourist Development Council (TDC), which continues to invest in projects that enhance visitor experiences and strengthen Highlands County’s appeal as a year-round destination for outdoor recreation and family travel.
“We are excited to welcome families and visitors to our Lake June Lagoon,” said Casey Hartt, Highlands County Tourism Director. “This new attraction adds another exciting outdoor recreation opportunity in Highlands County while showcasing the incredible natural resources that make our destination unique.”
