Motosurf Games & #SurfSebring Return to Lake Jackson Starting August 26

Free #SurfSebring community rides offered Aug. 26–27 at Pier Beach

SEBRING, Fla. (August 21, 2026) – Motorized surfboard racing returns to Lake Jackson this month as the MotoSurf Games bring competitors from across the U.S. and around the world to Sebring for a weekend of high-speed racing Aug. 29–30.

Before the competition begins, residents and visitors can try the sport themselves during #SurfSebring, a free community experience Wednesday, Aug. 26, and Thursday, Aug. 27, from 3–7 p.m. at Pier Beach on Lake Jackson.

Kids and adults will have the opportunity to ride a motorized surfboard with instruction from experienced riders. This year’s public experience will include Antony Squire of North Carolina, a MotoSurf World Champion who represented the sport at the 2025 World Games in China.

“Motosurfing is an incredible combination of speed, athleticism and technology, and the MotoSurf Games are a great way to bring that experience directly to the public,” said Squire. “I’m excited to introduce new people to the sport and share the experience of riding a motor surfboard with them.”

The action shifts to competition Saturday and Sunday, when more than 100 racers are expected to compete on Lake Jackson. The field will include racers from throughout the United States, along with international competitors from Europe, Mexico and Colombia. Spectator admission is free.

The event also brings visitors, teams and families to Highlands County, generating hotel stays and spending at local restaurants, shops and businesses during a traditionally slow tourism season. Following the event, a 30-minute recap of the racing and destination highlights will air nationally on CBS Sports.

“Events like MotoSurf give us several wins at once,” said Casey Hartt with Visit Sebring/Highlands County Tourist Development Council. “We bring visitors to the area providing additional economic activity for local businesses, give our residents something fun and different to experience, and showcase Sebring to a national audience. The CBS Sports coverage gives us an opportunity to keep telling that story long after race weekend.”
