AVON PARK, FL (August 11, 2025) – The LIQUI MOLY Pro Watercross National Tour is wrapping up its thrilling 2025 season right here in Avon Park, making a splash in the City of Charm for the second time on August 16-17. The season tour grand finale will take place at Donaldson Park on Lake Verona, bringing the excitement of professional jet-ski racing to one of Florida’s most scenic freshwater lakes.
Now recognized as the national governing body of jet-ski racing, Pro Watercross has grown from humble beginnings to become the top producer of watercross events in the country. The two-day competition features a wide range of racing divisions based on ski make, engine size, rider age, and skill level—offering non-stop action for fans and spectators of all ages.
Capping off the event, a 30-minute post-race TV special will be captured at the event and broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network (air date TBA) showcasing Avon Park, event highlights and top performances from the weekend.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back professional jet-ski racing and a nationally televised competition to Lake Verona,” said Casey Hartt, Highlands County Tourism Director. “Avon Park is the perfect host—our destination has racing in its DNA, and Lake Verona is one of our crown jewels. This event is not only a fan favorite, but it also generates more than $120,000 in economic impact to our area.”
The race site is located at 109 E. Main Street in Avon Park. Registration takes place Friday, August 15 from 2–5 PM. Racing begins Saturday, August 16 from 11 AM–4 PM, and continues Sunday, August 17 starting around 9:30 AM. Admission is free and open to the public, making it an ideal summer weekend event for locals and visitors alike.
A crowd favorite is always the Freestyle segment, where top riders perform gravity-defying stunts during two-minute, Olympic-style routines judged on difficulty, creativity, and execution. These jaw-dropping performances are a must-see!
This year’s Pro Watercross event will also feature expanded downtown activities, supported by the Pipal Foundation. Guests can enjoy food trucks, local farmers market vendors inside and outside the historic Jacaranda Hotel, live music, a Saturday car show, and a Sunday Kid Zone. The goal is to create a full weekend experience that connects the lakefront excitement with Avon Park’s downtown charm.
