The Military Sea Services Museum will host the county-wide Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 2 p.m. Covered seating will be provided courtesy of the Highlands County Veterans Council and the City of Sebring. Retired Rear Admiral Richard Buchanan, U. S. Navy will deliver an address. Serving in nuclear submarines and in command of U.S. Strategic forces, the Naval Academy graduate served at high levels of our military services for years. Sebring Mayor John Shoop will also speak. Reverend Ron Degenero of St. John Methodist Church and Fr. Scott Walker of St. Agnes Episcopal Church will provide the invocation and benediction.
Free refreshments and tours will be provided in the museum after the ceremony. The public are invited to attend.
