THE EXPERIENCE
Steam locomotive No. 148 will depart Lake Placid at 9:00 AM for a trip through the orange groves and sugar cane fields, arriving for a layover at the beloved Market on Bond Street featuring local farmers, fresh food, entertainment, and welcoming neighbors in downtown Clewiston. The train will return to Lake Placid at approximately 3:30 PM. First-class tickets are $148 and deluxe coach tickets are $99.00.
Tickets are $148.00 plus tax per person for the Palmdale Dining Car and $99.00 plus tax per person for Deluxe Coach seats. Dining Car passengers receive complimentary drinks, light snacks, and appetizers. These trips feature U.S. Sugar steam locomotive No. 148 operating one segment of the trip and a U.S. Sugar diesel locomotive on another.
With the exception of our open-air car Miami Locks, all cars are climate-controlled and restrooms are available on board. Concessions and souvenirs will be sold on board. For questions, click here to contact the Ticket Agent.
Parties of 15 or more are eligible for group discounts in regular coach class seating and may contact the Sugar Express office for more information.
PARKING & BOARDING
Parking and boarding for the trip will take place at 12 W. Park Street, Lake Placid, Florida. Parking and boarding instructions will be emailed to you with your tickets.
PLEASE NOTE
Due to its historic nature, Sugar Express is not ADA-accessible. Cars used on excursions feature steep steps, narrow hallways, and doorways, as well as small restrooms which can present challenges for guests with limited mobility.
