Lake Istokpoga Ranked One of Top U.S. Bass Fishing Lakes
By Bassmaster Magazine
SEBRING, Fla. (July 9, 2019) – Bassmaster Magazine just released their newest listing of the top 100 bass lakes in the U.S., and Lake Istokpoga was #14 on the list of Southeastern U.S. lakes, ranking higher than Lake Okeechobee (#18) and Stick Marsh (#16).
“If you are looking for a personal best, this (Lake Istokpoga) is a great place to start,” Bassmaster.com stated.
According to Bassmaster Magazine, the process to create the rankings takes about three months to complete. Data is received from state fisheries agencies across the U.S. This is coupled with catch data collected from dozens of tournament organizations across the country from the past 12 months. After the numbers are crunched, a blue-ribbon panel from the bass fishing industry debates the strength of the lakes, then settles on a final ranking.
“We are thrilled to see Lake Istokpoga recognized once again for its fantastic trophy bass fishing,” said Casey Hartt, lead marketing consultant for the destination’s marketing organization Visit Sebring. “This ranking shows just how strong the trophy bass fishing is and continues to be in Lake Istokpoga.”
