Christmas at the Jacaranda Hotel

When: November 6-January 16

Where: The Jacaranda Hotel

Book a staycation or plan a trip to Florida for the holidays and stay at the historic Jacaranda Hotel. Enjoy the quaint combination of history and holiday cheer from November 6 to January 16.

The already beautiful lobby space will be adorned with classic decorations including a 15-foot Christmas tree, traditional ornaments and nutcrackers. From the lobby, to the dining room and the arcade, “The Gracious Lady” transforms into a whimsical wonderland for the season. Highlands State Park Turkey Trot 5K

When: November 22, 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Where: Highlands Hammock State Park

Earn your Thanksgiving dinner this year with a morning spent participating in the 26th Annual Turkey Trot 5k. Walk or run your way through Highlands Hammock State Park with up to 600 other trotters. This event is sure to be a great start to a holiday filled with family fun. Sign up early to receive a shirt with your registration!

Carousel of Lights

When: December 1-28, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Circle Park

Experience the holiday magic of a marvelous light display in downtown Sebring for 28 enchanted days in December. Visit Circle Park and join locals and fellow travelers alike for Sebring’s 32nd annual Carousel of Lights. See the town dressed in lights, a musical puppet show and more. The kids are sure to love playing games and getting a visit from Santa.

Celtic Angels Christmas

When: December 4, 7 p.m.

Where: Alan Jay Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts

For an Irish take on Christmas charm, visit the Alan Jay Wildstein Center of Performing Arts to see the Celtic Angels Christmas show. Since its production in Ireland, the performance has spread and began touring all over the state of Florida. Enjoy the angelic musical selections, stunning stage scenery, and elaborate dresses and costumes. You won’t want to miss the chance to experience Christmas with a cultural twist.

Cookiefest

When: December 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Highlands Art League

Finish decorating your cookies for Santa early this year. Bring the whole family to Cookiefest at the Highlands Art League to decorate holiday treats and pastries with Chef Mac Gentleman, executive chef at the Palms of Sebring. In addition to sweet eats, there will be merry DIY projects, arts and crafts, and of course the opportunity for the kiddos to write their wish list for Old Saint Nick.

Hammock North Pole

When: December 13, 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where: Highlands Hammock State Park

We’re bringing Santa and his elves to Sebring at the Hammock North Pole. Take a Christmas sleigh tram ride with your family around Loop Road. After you’ve made a pit stop at the North Pole, make your way back to Sebring for storytelling, crafts and holiday themed games. You’ll be in awe as the park lights up around you, offering spectacular Christmas card photo ops.
