About 30 miles west of Sebring, you will find the Center for Great Apes, which is the only accredited orangutan sanctuary in the nation. With nearly 50 chimpanzees and orangutans, the Center provides a home for these apes. Many of the animals are retired from the entertainment industry, attractions or zoos, including Bubbles who belonged to Michael Jackson. Visitors are encouraged to meet the apes and learn their stories.
