Visit Sebring Announces Return of Spartan Trifecta Weekend to Highlands County

LAKE PLACID, Fla. (Dec. 2, 2025) – Visit Sebring/Highlands County Tourist Development Council (TDC) is proud to welcome the Spartan Race back to Highlands County for its fourth annual Spartan Trifecta Weekend taking place December 13–14, 2025 at Skipper Ranch in Lake Placid. As one of the destination’s most impactful TDC-recruited events, Spartan continues to attract thousands of athletes and spectators while delivering measurable benefits to the local tourism economy.

Last year, this Spartan Race generated more than $2.7 million in total economic impact for Highlands County, which included$175,000 in sales tax collected and more than $236,000 in Tourist Development Tax (TDT) revenue generated from overnight stays. These returns from the TDC’s $90,000 event grant for the race highlights the powerful role sports tourism plays in supporting Highlands County businesses, lodging partners, restaurants, and retailers.

The 2025 Trifecta Weekend will once again feature both Sprint (5K/10 obstacles)and Super (10K/25 obstacles) distances. Athletes who complete both races will earn the coveted Spartan Trifecta medal, a celebrated accomplishment within the global Spartan community. For those who are up to the challenge, there is he Beast distance (21K/30 obstacles) to test the body and mind. There are also shorter races for kids.

“We’re excited to bring Spartan Race back to Highlands County for another action-packed Trifecta Weekend,” said Cherie Bortnick, vice president of business development of Spartan Race. “The area’s scenic landscapes, rolling terrain, and natural beauty provide an ideal backdrop for Spartan’s signature challenges, such as rope climbs, mud obstacles, heavy carries, and trail running. The event not only challenges competitors physically but also foster a strong sense of camaraderie, determination, and community among participants.”

Registration for Sebring Trifecta Weekend is now open at Spartan.com. Spots are limited, so participants are encouraged to register early. Spectators are welcome to cheer on athletes as they tackle each obstacle.
