Sebring’s Motorized Surfboard Racing Airs Nov. 16 on TV

Catch the Action on CBS Sports

If you missed the live adrenaline of motorized surfboard racing in Sebring in September, you’re in luck as you can now relive it on your TV screen. A 30-minute recap of the thrilling weekend at the MotoSurf Continental Cup in Sebring will air on CBS Sports on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 12:30 PM (EST). Two special encore airings will be shown on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 AM (EST) and Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 11:00 AM (EST).

The event, which was held at Lake Jackson’s City Pier Beach, featured 40 youth and adult competitors on motorized surfboards battling across two racing formats that delivered high-octane excitement and a unique spectacle. The broadcast, which was filmed throughout the weekend, brings the best moments, the competition heat, and the fun of the lakefront venue straight to your living room.

“It’s not every day you see motorized surfboards in action and get to watch the sport unfold with real competitors on water,” said Visit Sebring’s Tourism Director Casey Hartt.  “This broadcast gives you a front-row seat to watch the action and enjoy the atmosphere, plus get a sneak peek behind the scenes.”

With more than 100 total attendees from three continents and 10 different countries, the estimated economic impact to Highlands County is $212,700 from this event.  The Motosurf competition, complete with television broadcast, is brought to Highlands County by a partnership with Visit Sebring, in cooperation with Airstream Ventures and Jetsurf USA.

CBS Sports offers a significant reach and a compelling audience profile for sports content.  The network’s audience skews heavily toward male viewers (about 77 %) with strong household incomes and high levels of education, which means this recap show has a platform with significant reach and exposure for Highlands County. Although Neilsen ratings for CBS Sports are not available, CBS Sports airs in nearly 100 million households.

Motorized surfboard racing first emerged in the Czech Republic in 2012 and has since expanded globally, adding new events and competition formats across multiple continents. Its inclusion in the 2025 World Games (in China) is a major milestone and underscores the sport’s growth toward potentially becoming an Olympic discipline.
