Get ready to make a splash! Families and visitors to Highlands County will have something big (and bouncy!) to look forward to—Lake June Lagoon, a brand-new inflatable water park, which is coming to Lake Placid’s H.L. Bishop Park on Lake June in the summer of 2025.
With its scenic lakefront, shady picnic spots, and family-friendly atmosphere, H.L. Bishop Park has always been a local favorite. Now, thanks to this new addition, it’s about to become the go-to destination for summer fun and unforgettable memories.
This exciting new recreation amenity is made possible through a grant from Visit Sebring/the Highlands County Tourist Development Council (TDC). Visit Sebring/TDC is funded by a tourist development tax (TDT) paid by Highlands County visitors who stay in local accommodations. The mission of Visit Sebring/TDC is to contribute to a positive quality of life for the residents of Highlands County through destination promotion, development, advocacy, and resource management.
Lake June Lagoon is designed with families in mind—offering something for everyone. Whether you’re a kid ready to conquer the obstacle course, a teen racing your friends down a giant slide, or a parent looking to relax while your little ones safely play, the Lagoon will be the perfect place to cool off, laugh loud, and play hard.
“Our visitors and local families will now have more ways to have fun together,” said Kristen Smoyer from Lake June Pontoons, the team behind the project. “Lake June Lagoon isn’t just about inflatables—it’s about bringing people together, giving our kids more reasons to get outside, and turning an ordinary summer day into something magical.”
Located in the protected swim zone at H.L. Bishop Park, the inflatable park will feature easy access to parking, restrooms, picnic areas, and a playground, making it a convenient and safe option for families looking to spend the day by the water. Thanks to a partnership with the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners, the nearby Lake June Pontoons office will handle ticketing, waivers, and safety briefings, ensuring a smooth, fun-filled experience for every guest.
Offering a safe, supervised, and seriously fun environment for all ages, the Lagoon will be open daily (9 AM–5 PM) through September. It will be open weekends only from October-April.
From epic slides and wacky obstacles to relaxing lounge areas, Lake June Lagoon is more than just a water park—it’s a celebration of community, family, and good old-fashioned outdoor fun. Follow @LakeJunePontoons on Facebook for updates on when the park will be opening and details on pricing.
