Sebring Regional Airport is a public use airport located just a 10 minute drive from Sebring’s city center. The airport has been named in the State Aviation System Plan as the growth airport for South Central Florida. The Airport is also home to the Runway Cafe where travelers and aviation enthusiasts can catch a bite and watch aircrafts as they move about the grounds.
Once home to Hendricks Field, a World War II B-17 training base for the US Army, the facility was turned over to the City of Sebring on May 1, 1946 and became Sebring Air Terminal, an airport and Commerce Park – what is known today as Sebring Regional Airport & Commerce Park.
A portion of the original grounds that was once runway system for Hendricks Field is now part of the Sebring International Raceway track, home to the 12 Hours of Sebring held annually at the raceway since 1952.
