Charles F. Weigle House Museum & Gift Shop

Explore Sebring’s Past!

The historic Charles F. Weigle House was built in 1922 by Dr. Charles F. Weigle (1871-1966), a world-renown evangelist and song writer, who wrote his famous hymn, “No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus” at this Lake Jackson property. The house stood immediately next door to home of George Sebring, the founder of Sebring, FL.

Today, the home is furnished like those of the early 1900’s and displays original pottery from Mr. Sebring’s Ohio factory.  In addition to Dr. Wiegle and Mr. Sebring, the house includes highlights of many other significant residents of Sebring, including author Rex Beach, and WW II Ace Tommy McGuire.

Explore exhibits on the WWII Army Air Forces training center at Hendricks Field, now home to the Sebring International Raceway, as well as exhibits on the history of the Raceway itself.

Owned and operated by Sebring Historical Society, museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.to 3 p.m.  For more information, contact the Sebring Historical Society at 863-658-5642 or visit their Facebook page or  www.sebringhistoricalsociety.info.
