What could be more romantic than a Valentine’s Day hike?
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a unique experience at Archbold Biological Station. Join Director of Education Dustin Angell for a guided hike through the Florida scrub, where you’ll discover the fascinating ways local plants and wildlife form partnerships, raise families, and thrive in their communities.
Along the hike, learn about the devoted pairings of Devil Rider Walkingstick Bugs, the communal habits of elder Gopher Tortoises, the selective blooms of Florida Ziziphus, and the remarkable longevity of Saw Palmetto.
The experience concludes with an ecology-themed Valentine’s Day cardmaking activity, a fun way to share your appreciation for nature and each other.
The hike covers approximately ¾ mile on sandy trails. Long pants and sturdy shoes or boots are recommended.
