This fall, dive into Florida’s fascinating past during a free lecture series presented by the Historical Society of Avon Park, Hotel Jacaranda, and the Heartland Cultural Alliance.

October 26 – “War in Paradise”
Historian and author Eliot Kleinberg explores Florida’s vital role in World War II, from military training bases to life on the home front.

November 23 – “Tracing Florida Journeys”
Leslie Poole shares little-known stories of Florida’s people and places, offering fresh perspectives on the state’s rich history.
