Discover the sights and sounds of one of Florida’s premier birdwatching destinations during this ranger-led birding experience at Highlands Hammock State Park. From the park’s scenic bird viewing platform, you’ll learn how to identify native and migratory birds by sight and sound while observing wildlife in its natural habitat. Bringing binoculars is highly recommended to enhance your experience and get a closer look at the park’s diverse birdlife. Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply curious about Florida’s incredible birds, this relaxed, interactive program is a wonderful way to explore one of Florida’s oldest state parks.
Location: Highlands Hammock State Park, 5931 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33872 (Meet at the bird viewing platform located off Wilderness Road. Directions to the meeting location can be obtained at the ranger station.)
Cost: $6 park admission per vehicle (No additional fee for birdwatching experience.)
