THE EXPERIENCE
Kick back for a sunset cruise departing Lake Placid, Florida at 5:30 PM and returning at 7:30 PM. Hosting passengers 21-and-over, the Sunset Spirit Express operates south along the town’s namesake lake and into the orange groves of Highlands County and returns just in time for magic hour at sunset.
Featuring a variety of beer and wine served on board by LaBelle Brewing Company, a trip aboard our vintage steam-and-diesel-powered train is a delightful way to welcome the weekend.

The passenger train consists of historic cars dating from the early 1900s to the mid-1950s and includes first-class observation and lounge cars, table cars, deluxe coaches, and open-air cars. PARKING & BOARDING
Parking and boarding for this event occur at 12 Park Street, Lake Placid, Florida at the historic Atlantic Coast Line depot, maintained by the Lake Placid Historical Society. Parking and boarding instructions will be emailed to you with your tickets.
ACCOMODATIONS
Due to its historic design, Sugar Express is not ADA-accessible. The excursion cars feature steep steps, narrow hallways and doorways, and small restrooms, which may pose challenges for guests with limited mobility. Passengers with limited mobility need to be aware of these limitations and should expect such situations, and should contact The Sugar Express directly for planning and accommodations.
SAFETY
Due to the unique railroad environment passengers travel in, The Sugar Express requires all guests must wear sturdy, comfortable shoes, and should not wear flip-flops, sandals, or open-toed or high-heeled shoes. Boarding and detraining sites may have uneven footing, large heavy gravel, and high steps, and walking is required at all locations.
