Lake Placid Limited – Sugar Express Steam Engine Ride to Lake Placid

THE EXPERIENCE

Climb aboard our historic excursion train from Clewiston to Lake Placid, Florida, and enjoy a day-long roundtrip ride through the Glades Communities.

The Lake Placid Limited will depart Clewiston at 10:00 AM, arriving in Lake Placid for a 2.5-hour layover for lunch, shopping, and self-guided mural tours, with a return to Clewiston at approximately 5:00 PM.

TICKETS

Our passenger train consists of historic cars dating from the early 1900s to the mid-1950s and includes first-class observation and lounge cars, table cars, deluxe coaches, and open-air cars. Our train is climate-controlled except in our open-air class and features restrooms onboard.

All first-class tickets include complimentary drinks, light snacks, and appetizers. Your ticket selection will describe specific amenities and features. Ticket prices do not include taxes or fees.

Tickets pricing varies from $95 – $212.

Tickets for most of the 2025-2026 season excursions go on sale September 3, 2025 at 6:00PM.

PARKING & BOARDING

Parking and boarding for the Lake Placid Limited takes place at 900 W C Owen Ave, Clewiston, FL 33440. Detailed parking and boarding instructions are emailed to you with your ticket confirmation.

NOTES

Due to its historic nature, Sugar Express is not ADA-accessible. The excursion cars feature steep steps, narrow hallways and doorways, and small restrooms, which may pose challenges for guests with limited mobility. Passengers with limited mobility need to be aware of these limitations and should expect such situations, and should contact Sugar Express for planning and accommodations
