Tourism Insights Lunch Scheduled for May 1
Google Industry Education to Follow Lunch
SEBRING, Fla. (April 2, 2019) – To celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week (May 5-11) and its theme “Travel Matters,” the Highlands County Tourist Development Council (TDC), along with the three Chambers of Commerce (Sebring, Avon Park & Lake Placid) and the Highlands County Economic Development Council (EDC) have all partnered to host a Tourism Insights Luncheon on Wednesday, May 1 starting at 11:00 AM at Seven – Sebring Raceway Hotel.
Speakers at the luncheon will present findings from a recent Perceptions & Awareness Study that reveals what visitors think of Highlands County as a tourist destination, as well as results from a recent Google Audit revealing how Highlands County tourism attractions and businesses are perceived on Google.
In addition, there will be a Google Education seminar, with representatives from Miles Media, immediately after the lunch for any business that wants learn more about how to maximize their image on Google, the world’s #1 search engine, from several Google experts.

In recent year’s tourism’s indirect and induced impacts on Highlands County’s economy have generated $220 million in economic impact, 2,160 jobs, $147.8 million in direct spending, and saves each Highlands County household $169/year.
