ABOUT CAPTAIN DON
Captain Don Hatcher has been a Central Florida bass fishing guide since 1983. He has 25 years experience guiding his clients to Trophy Bass in Central Florida’s lakes from the Kissimmee chain, Lake Walk-on-Water, Lake Okeechobee to Lake Istokpoga in Highlands County, Florida.

Not all of Captain Don’s experience has been in Florida, though. He has a well rounded resume from guiding throughout the country in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Missouri, New England, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York and in Canada. Captain Don currently guides on the smooth waters of the 27,500 acre Lake Istokpoga, Walk-on-Water, and Lake Okeechobee.

Captain Don guides several hundred clients per year and specializes in individual and small corporate groups. He is a winner of several bass tournaments and is a member of the National Bass Angler’s Association and the Bass Angler Sportsman Society.

Some of the tourneys Captain Don has won include:

• 1999 “Angler of the Year”: Southern Bass Trails, Lake Istokpoga Division
• 2000 “Angler of the Year”: Southern Bass Trails, Lake Istokpoga Division
• 2001 “Angler of the Year”: Southern Pro Bass, Lake Istokpoga Division

Captain Don has done more than win tournaments with his talent. He often hosts a local radio show and he was recruited by the Highlands County Tourist Development Council to star in a commercial featuring William Devane to showcase the beautiful Heartland lakes.

RATES
Whatever your pleasure, Captain Don guides trips using artificial lures or live bait. Remember, his specialty is fishing for Trophy Bass using wild shiners. All tackle is furnished, but you are welcome to bring your own. Captain Don fishes on a Triton Boat with a Mercury Motor and uses Pfleuger reels and Shakespeare and All Star rods.

Half-day: $250 for one or two people. A Half-day fishing trip will be 4 hours of actual fishing time, and usually longer, depending on the conditions.
All-day: $350 for one or two people. A Full-day fishing trip will be at least 8 hours of actual fishing time.

Women and children are very much welcome and can come enjoy the beautiful scenery, wildlife, and of course…Catch Fish!!
